Sarah Noni

Sarah Noni (previously known as Sarah Noni Metzner) is an artist with weaving stories and a love of the extraordinary that shows up in her compositions as well as her performances.

Her career began in 2004 when she was signed to a West Coast Canadian folk Label and released 2 albums in 3 years of primarily singer-songwriter-folk songs. Bouncing between studios, the road and the stage up and down North America´s west coast during this time, Sarah built a beautiful little fan base, won a Canadian Folk Music Award for „Best Solo Artist“ in 2007 and showcased at many great festivals including Popkomm 2007 in Berlin, Germany.

Shortly after returning home she moved to Toronto changed to a new label who released her 3rd album "Mansion of Happiness" with EMI. This album took her away from the folk genre and into the pop/alternative genre, and birthed a new thread of fans and new touring territory, including more areas of the US, South America and Europe.

Landing in Berlin again in 2008 for a 2 month tour opening for German artist Alin Coen, Sarah found that Europe was an endless playground of more musical discoveries, more songs and more artistic endeavours, and couldn´t bear to leave. Quickly acquiring a new band and European management, Sarah spent the next year touring around France, Switzerland, Italy, and Germany, as well as one festival season back in Canada in 2009. During this summer, Sarah was offered the job of writing the score of a Canadian film production, which led her to an additional branch of her music career that has since compiled with multiple film scores and an on the side study of orchestration and film scoring.

In 2010 She moved to Paris for half a year to work on the film compositions and prepare for another solo studio album. She then returned to Berlin to work with another producer there, at which time Sarah fell in love with her European booking agent. 9 months later she was in the throws of labor and their beautiful daughter fell into their arms. The year and a half following was all about the baby and film scoring, perhaps somewhat similar activities. Sarah is now working on 3 simultaneous albums which have come from 4 and a half years of unreleased material. With all of these exciting projects brewing, as well as plans to return to North America with her little family in the new year, 2014 is looking to be an exciting year for the Sounds of Sarah Noni.
